It's easy to believe that anime has died when other jaded, equally-uninformed people are constantly re-affirming that notion by repeating "modern anime is nothing but isekai and moe, nothing is on par with " like a mantra. But if you actually do your research, you can find an anime that suits you. Now, not only are we exposed to almost everything that airs in a given season, but there are more seasonal anime than ever-ergo, it's much easier to come into contact with "bad" anime. In previous decades, it was easier to curate content or come into contact with "good" anime after all, streaming websites and social media were not nearly as ubiquitous, and companies/networks had a tendency to expose audiences to only the specific anime that they saw fit for Western consumption. So many people only tend to focus on the "bad"-fanservice, moe, anything they don't personally approve of-and ignore the things that would appeal to their tastes. In fact, Gundam is undergoing a bit of a renaissance-there are several new anime in the works.Īlso, I can safely say that the majority of anime airing this season (let alone any other season) are not about T&A or incest.Īs an aside, I think that it's time for some people to realize that there have always been good, bad, and mediocre anime in every season the mid-late 00s were no exception. The four anime that you've mentioned aired over a period of six years (2006-2012)-is it so hard to believe that quality anime have aired over the last six years? Have you looked at One Punch Man, Kekkai Sensen, Mob Psycho 100, Garo: The Animation, Devilman Crybaby, Ping Pong, or Hibike! Euphonium? As for Gundam, Gundam Build Fighters, Iron-Blooded Orphans, Gundam: The Origin, and Gundam Thunderbolt are highly-regarded. Huh? It's nonsensical to take a comedically-exaggerated Youtube video, focusing on a single season of anime, as evidence that the medium has unequivocally changed and nothing good exists nowadays. In general if it's prominently featuring young girls I just skip cause the chances of it being creepy are too high. I don't have time for those creepy fanservice, idol, or cute girls doing cute things anime though. Otherwise I'm also watching Golden Kamuy, Hinomaruzumou, Karakuri Circus (could become pretty good), and Gaikotsu Shotenin Honda-San (pretty fun). If this interests you, read the manga though, it's better. The second half of the show should be really good if it's anything like the manga though. Radiant – I absolutely love the manga this is based on, so even though I'm disappointed by the fact they're replacing all the humour and are actively making the story more cliché by any means possible to appeal to a younger audience I'm still looking forward to how they adapt the material every week.In the last episode a puppet fought a dude in a dragon kaijuu suit and literally started singing the opening song half way through the fight lol, how awesome is that Thunderbolt fantasy – despite my Japanese not being good enough to follow what's happening half the time I'm still having lots of fun.The ones I'm the most looking forward to each week are: I'm watching quite a few anime series this season. ![]() ![]() If you like JoJo check it out, it's batshit.
